Highlights from the Montauk Century Tour. 100 miles of some of the most beautiful sights in the Hamptons. Ready to go home and pass out but first an uncomfortable ride on the subway with the lucky few that get to sit next to me :-D
Farewell Charlie…We shared slow rides on rare warm and sunny afternoons, brisk foggy mornings, mad dashes across town to beat the clock, the best sights of my beloved city by the bay, peaceful retreats to Baker Beach, thrilling races up and down the steepest hills, the company of new friends, the greatest sense of freedom and adventure…the memories I will hold dearly…off you go to create new memories for Jace…
Inadvertently stepped onto the set of a feature film which happens to be just outside my front door! The film, Bitter Pill, is being directed by Steven Soderbergh and boasts an A-list cast: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jude Law and Channing Tatum. No celebrity sightings yet-only stunt doubles.
When sharing my newcomer status with New Yorkers, first order of business seems to be deciding on either my Yankee or Mets allegiance. So far Mets are coming up on top. Will have to check out Yankee stadium before my mind is set. Hybrid sounds like the diplomatic approach. Fun win against the Brewers last night!
Westport, Connecticut. A trip to the suburbs provides a brief break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Also introduces me to the peaceful serenity of the East coast shoreline.
A splendid afternoon of sailing the bay with my best buddy Arnold and some of his closest pals, all veterans of the U.S. Merchant Marine. Ahoy mate! Hoisting those sails was some serious heavy lifting!
Lovely trip across the bay but dreary weather ruined my Tour de Staten Island plans. Will have to trek back soon.
